Annual Community Events

Arbor Day Celebration

The Maize Tree Board holds an annual Arbor Day celebration in April each year. Tree planting is a highlight of the event. The Maize Tree Board is instrumental in providing area citizens with valuable information regarding care of trees and other plant life.

Annual City Wide Garage Sale Day

Maize has an annual City Wide Garage Sale Day each April. Over the past 10+ years Maize residents have held upwards of 110 individual sales. Several of the sales also sell food and snacks. Citizens register their sale with City Hall and pay a fee, which covers the cost of advertising, maps, etc.

Annual Pet Clinics

Area veterinarians provide a pet clinic in Maize each year. Reduced fees for vaccinations are available as well as licensing of dogs.

Fourth of July Celebration

Citizens show up in droves for the annual 4th of July Celebration. A spectacular fireworks display which lasts approximately 45 minutes. Concessions Available.

Fall Festival

The Maize Lions Club hosts this annual event which includes a parade, car show, arts & crafts, games, car bash, food booths, featured carnival rides by Ottaway Amusements, the Maize Recreation Commission's Fall Tot Trot, lots of great raffle prizes, and great live entertainment.
